No flex: Giants-Redskins stays in prime time

There was a time when any Giants game this season scheduled for prime time was an option to be flexed out of a night game, considering how dreadfully they were playing during their 0-6 start. The Giants have rebounded, though, and their Dec. 1 game against the Redskins at FedEx Field will stay an 8:30 p.m. kickoff.

The Eagles-Cardinals game that day could have been flexed into the night slot, but the NFL decided Giants-Redskins is the more attractive matchup.

Now the Giants have to hold up their end. They face the Cowboys on Sunday at MetLife Stadium in a game that will determine whether the Giants are serious contenders in the NFC East. The Giants (4-6) have ripped off four consecutive victories to get within hailing distance of the Eagles (6-5) and Cowboys (5-5). The Redskins fell to 3-7.

The Giants are coming off a 27-13 victory over the Aaron Rodgers-less Packers in a game that was originally scheduled for prime time. The Giants were flexed out of the Sunday night slot in favor of the more attractive Broncos-Chiefs game in Denver.
