Russian supermodel sizzles at Sochi Opening Ceremony

A lot happened during Sochi’s Olympic Opening Ceremonies. Horses flew, LED-jellyfish danced, an Austrian athlete fell down, and the 5th Olympic ring missed its entrance.

But amid the spectacles, and an overall job well done, strutted tall, leggy snowflake-like models who led in the 88 competing countries during the Parade of Nations.

Leading the Russian delegation was none other than Russian supermodel and Sports Illustrated veteran, Irina Shayk.

The 28-year-old stunner, who has been featured in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue since 2007 (snagging the 2011 cover) proudly led her country’s 250 athletes into the Olympic stadium during Friday’s opening ceremonies.

Dressed in head-to-toe white with an ornate headdress, the model’s ensemble was meant to depict a Russian snow maiden, or Snegurochka, a popular character in Russian folklore.

Shayk, whose been dating Portuguese football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo since 2010, didn’t contain her pride of Mother Russia solely to her Opening Ceremony cameo. The active Instagram user posted a sexy photo earlier in the week sporting a Russian baseball hat and strategically placed Sochi 2014 gloves.

Here’s hoping the rest of the Winter Games are this hot.
