PAUL BELIEVES IN YESTERDAY

Paul McCartney sure knows his music – and his veggies.

Seems Sir Paul was driving through Los Angeles recently, listening to a Beatles-themed breakfast show, when DJ Chris Carter asked listeners, “What Beach Boys’ song does Paul appear on eating a carrot?”

The prize for the first caller with the right answer – a bag of McCartney-signed goodies.

The ex-Beatle grew increasingly frustrated as caller after caller came up with the wrong answer. So he pulled over to the side of the road and phoned the show.

Carter was disbelieving at first, but finally was convinced he had McCartney on the line.

And when he asked him, he got the right answer: “Vegetables.”

Seems that during an earlier visit to LA, back in 1967, McCartney visited the Beach Boys while they were recording and he obligingly contributed the sound of carrot-munching.

McCartney passed up on collecting the prize, but he did ask the Y-107 DJ to play “Here Today,” a song on his “Tug of War” album that’s dedicated to John Lennon.
