NFL bullying keeps Jonas Brothers backpack off NBA rookie

Teams are taking no more chances with the Dolphins bullying scandal dominating national headlines. Hazing is being phased out, regardless of its severity.

Minnesota Timberwolves rookie Shabazz Muhammad, who was given a Jonas Brothers backpack by his veteran teammates, was told by team president Chris Wright and general manager Milt Newtown that he could no longer wear it, according to the Los Angeles Times.

“They actually said they don’t want us carrying them, but I understand with the stuff going on with the football thing,” Muhammad told the Times, referencing the Jonathan Martin-Richie Incognito situation.

“They want to be separate from that. … Now I think rookie hazing won’t exist anymore.”
