$TIFFED ATT’Y SLAMS JAY-Z

The lawyer defending Jay-Z against claims that he failed to pay his staff wants to fire him — for not paying the law firm.

A federal lawsuit claims the music mogul failed to pay minimum wage or overtime to more than 400 workers at his Chelsea hot spot, the 40/40 Club.

Now attorney Michael DiMattia says his client is a Grammy Award-winning deadbeat — and he wants out.

“We are seeking to withdraw because . . . our requests for payment have been ignored,” DiMattia wrote in a letter to Manhattan Federal Court Judge Loretta Preska.

“It’s astounding,” said Rex Burch, a lawyer for the workers. “For rap’s biggest mogul, you’d think this amount of money would be chump change.”

The letter doesn’t say how much Jay-Z (real name Shawn Carter) owes DiMattia, who has represented him since July 2008.
