When Harlem resident Tamara Duricka, 31, launched her blog “31 Dates in 31 Days” in January, her goal was to meet new guys, learn something new about dating, and have some fun.
Instead, she found a mate for life.
Less than eight months after the project ended with a final date on Valentine’s Day, date No. 6 and 31 — Evan Johnson, 28 — popped the question, and the two are set to get hitched in Los Angeles on Jan. 16.
“I wanted to get out of old habits and start over,” said Duricka. “I thought there were no good guys in New York. I realized I was approaching it wrong so I tried this.”
Johnson, a market research analyst and Columbia grad student, was a last-minute date, set up by a mutual friend.
After 30 “G-rated” dates with 30 different guys, Duricka and her blog readers voted Johnson their favorite, and he won the second date on Valentine’s Day.
On vacation in New Hampshire, Johnson proposed.
“I don’t know what language I was speaking. But I know I gave him a very definitive answer,” said Duricka, who is writing a book about the experience.
