Gates open, rain in forecast

The gates at Yankee Stadium opened as scheduled at 5 p.m. with the intention of playing ALCS Game 6 tonight.

However, the weather forecast continues to predict rain up to and past the scheduled first pitch at 7:57 p.m.

Here’s a look at various forecasts for tonight at Yankee Stadium:

Accuweather.com: 81 percent chance of rain until 8 p.m.; 61 percent chance from 8-11 p.m.

Weather.com: 90 percent chance of rain at 8 p.m.; 100 percent at 9 p.m.; 65 percent at 10 p.m.

Yahoo.com: Chance of rain 90 percent.

National Weather Service: Chance of precipitation 100 percent.

The scheduled Game 6 starting pitchers are Joe Saunders for the Angels and Andy Pettitte for the Yankees. Joe Girardi told MLB.com that if there is a postponement, he would stay with Pettitte for Game 6, setting up CC Sabathia to pitch a potential Game 7.

Tickets for tonight’s game would be honored tomorrow.
