Cat lover mauled to death by neighbor’s dogs: cops

A woman who owned 20 cats was brutally killed after two of her neighbor’s dogs attacked outside her home.

The battered body of Klonda Richey was found naked in the snow outside her house in Dayton, Ohio.

Police believe she was mauled to death by a pair of male mixed breed Bullmastiffs who tore off her coat in the attack.

According to the Dayton Daily News, Richey, 57, had complained several times to authorities about the animals but no action had been taken.

Police attending the scene shot the dogs dead after they tried to charge them.

The Bullmastiffs’ owners, Andrew Nason, 28, and Julie Custer, 23, who lived next-door to Richey, have been arrested and are being held on a charge of reckless homicide.

The paper reported that Richey was a keen cat lover.

“It’s so ironic that this devout animal lover would be killed by animals in such a brutal aggressive way,” Ann Stevens, who worked with Richey for 16 years at the Montgomery County Job & Family Services Administration Services Division, told the paper.
