Very merry ‘Saturday’

Thanksgiving is still two weeks away, but “SNL” already has its eyes set on Christmas.

NBC announced that it’ll air a special two-hour “Saturday Night Live Christmas 2009” on Dec. 17, featuring the best holiday-themed sketches from its 35-year history.

Expect to see old favorites like Eddie Murphy in “Christmas in Mr. Robinson’s Neighborhood” and “NPR’s Delicious Dish and the Schweddy Balls” with Alec Baldwin, alongside newer fare like Justin Timberlake and Andy Samberg’s “D- – – in a Box.”

The network also announced the Dec. 14 premiere of “The Sing-Off,” a competition show with eight a cappella groups performing pop songs while vying for a recording contract at Epic Records.
