Adam Lambert goes home to Fox

Adam Lambert is returning to the network that made him famous — the first time around.

ABC may not want the “American Idol” runner-up performing live, but he’s getting an open-armed welcome from Fox.

He’s singing his track, “Whataya Want From Me,” during the network’s live two-hour season finale of “So You Think You Can Dance” next Wednesday.

It will be the first time he’s appeared on Fox since May’s “Idol” finale.

Lambert’s live performances were unceremoniously dumped from ABC’s “Good Morning America” and “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” after network execs decided that they couldn’t risk a repeat performance of the sexually suggestive routine he did during the Nov. 22 American Music Awards show.

He hasn’t been totally banned from the ABC airwaves, though.

Lambert made the list of tomorrow night’s “Barbara Walters Presents the 10 Most Fascinating People of 2009” special, and he’ll be a guest interview and performer on Thursday’s “The View” — although it’ll be a previously-taped broadcast.
