Gaga’s crown yule

Queen Elizabeth II really drew a wild card!

No-holds-barred Lady Gaga — decked out in an outrageous “Poker Face” outfit — wowed the British monarch during the annual royal Christmas show Monday night.

The notoriously stone-faced queen couldn’t suppress her chuckles backstage when she met the New York singer, who was still in her onstage outfit — a flowing red PVC gown topped off by a regal, Elizabethan ruff.

The queen didn’t flinch when a smiling Gaga greeted her in garish white makeup and over-the-top red eye shadow.

Lady Gaga appropriately bowed and curtsied before her royal host.

She admitted she toned down her performance and decided against doing her infamous “suicide” act.

Earlier this year at the MTV Video Music Awards, she pretended to stab herself while performing her hit “Paparazzi.”

“I wanted to do the suicide scene, but was told it wouldn’t be appropriate,” Gaga told the Daily Mirror. “I’ve also had to tone things down generally.

“But it doesn’t matter, because I’m a massive fan of the queen,” she added. “I was so excited and have even been practicing my curtsy.”

Lady Gaga took the stage at the Royal Variety Performance in Blackpool, UK, and gleefully greeted the audience: “Good evening, Blackpool, let me hear you rattle your jewelry!”

The crowd wildly cheered Gaga for her playful take on a famous John Lennon royal line.

When the Beatles performed “Twist and Shout” for the Queen Mother and Princess Margaret in 1963, Lennon boldly said:

“For this number, we’d like to ask your help. Will the people in the cheaper seats clap your hands — all the rest of you, if you’ll just rattle your jewelry!”

The 23-year-old glam-pop queen played the piano suspended at least 12 feet in the air, to the delight of her loyal British “subjects.”

While in midair, she belted out “Speechless,” a tune from her just-released CD, “The Fame Monster.”

American etiquette expert Jacqueline Whitmore applauded Gaga for going all-out with her outfit.

“That’s who she is — that’s who Lady Gaga is. This is what she’s known for,” said Whitmore.
