Former Bill Clinton money man linked to Starr scandal

A former Democratic National Committee finance chairman who had a close relationship with former President Bill Clinton is being tied to accused Ponzi scammer Kenneth Starr.

Sources told The Post that Marvin Rosen, a New York corporate and securities lawyer, would sometimes accompany Starr and ex-City Council President Andrew Stein when they met with potential investors in Starr’s money-management firm.

“Marvin Rosen is always in Ken Starr’s office,” said a source. “This is a guy who sat with the president. It enhanced Starr’s credibility a lot that he had Marvin and Andy Stein.”

Rosen did not return a request for comment yesterday.

Rosen was co-finance chairman for Clinton in Florida during his 1992 presidential campaign, and later became finance chair of the DNC.

Last year, it was revealed that Rosen’s Diamond Edge Capital Partners was paid $3.25 million to act as a middleman for three deals in which New York state pension funds were placed with various investment firms. At the time of those deals — 2005 to 2006 — the pension funds were under the auspices of state Comptroller Alan Hevesi, a Democrat who later resigned in disgrace.
