It’s take more than Mayor Bloomberg to slow down Jay-Z.
The rapper has taken to the rooftop of the Ed Sullivan Theater this afternoon to rehearse a surprise show with Eminem — just days after the mayor canceled his planned performance from the theater’s marquee.
The two are currently strolling the rooftop and doing microphone checks for a taping of the “Late Show with David Letterman” later this afternoon, sources said.
Originally, Jay-Z was going to perform before thousands of people from the fame theater’s marquee – but the Mayor’s Office of Film, Theatre and Broadcasting canceled it Thursday after word leaked out.
The Post exclusively reported the permit dispute on Friday.
“I’m in a taping now, can I call you back?” said Letterman spokeswoman Kim Izzo-Emmet when asked about the current rooftop activities.
The NYPD said a permit was not required for the rooftop performance.
Last Tuesday, a free show by up-and-coming rapper Drake was canceled after the crowd grew unruly when the performer was 90 minutes late.
