So seedy: He’s pa to 400 kids

In this season of giving, no one has given more than Dr. Kirk Maxey.

The Michigan man is a super sperm donor who has sired at least 400 children thanks to donations he made in the 1980s and early 1990s.

The 51-year-old researcher started while he was a medical student, and his wife convinced him to donate because she was a nurse at a fertility clinic and wanted to help couples. He made $20 per donation, according to Newsweek.

He soon became a sperm-shooting star.

“You would get a personal phone call from a nurse, saying, ‘The situation is urgent! We have a woman ovulating this morning. Can you be here in a half-hour?’ ” he told the magazine.

Now Maxey, who has a 12-year-old son with his wife, is worried that the sperm bank may have been too loose with his seed.

“I think it was quite reckless that sperm banks created so many offspring without keeping track of their or my health status,” said Maxey, who is calling for better government regulation of semen donation.
