Chad: Bedroom moves prove knee is just fine

CINCINNATI — Chad Ochocinco said his left knee is feeling fine. He tested it out Monday — not on the football field, though.

“I had sex yesterday,” the Bengals receiver said. “With some of the moves I did — I should be fine.”

Ochocinco returned to more conventional rehab yesterday, getting treatment and practicing fully. He will be looking for redemption in Saturday’s AFC wild-card game after he was a no-show in Sunday’s game against the Jets.

Ochocinco injured the knee Sunday night when he slipped during warm-ups at an icy Giants Stadium. He played just a half in the 37-0 loss to the Jets and his much-anticipated showdown with Darrelle Revis was a dud. Ochocinco finished with no catches.

He spent last week sending messages to Revis via Twitter and compared their matchup to a prizefight. This week, he said he’ll be more businesslike.

“This isn’t a week to talk,” he said. “This isn’t a week for games, for fun.”

Of course, Ochocinco’s serious side is still a bit fun. On Monday he offered to fly Jets superfan “Fireman Ed” Anzalone to Cincinnati for Saturday’s game. But the offer was rejected by Anzalone.

“I talked to Fireman Ed,” Ochocinco said. “He declined, said he had to stick with Jet Nation. He did like the invite. Typical talk, good for the game, class act, but he’s sticking with the Jets.”

The Bengals are regrouping from the butt-whipping the Jets administered on Sunday. Many said yesterday that it was tough to get excited for a game with little meaning to them since their playoff berth was sealed already.

Ochocinco also said the Bengals held back in their offensive game plan, knowing they could face the Jets again this week.

“Extremely vanilla,” he said. “Similar to a preseason game.”

The Bengals threw Ochocinco’s way just four times. Two of the passes hit him in the hands but he failed to make the catch. On one, Jets safety Kerry Rhodes blasted him as he dropped the ball.

Rhodes suggested that if you hit Ochocinco early you can rattle him — an idea the receiver bristled at yesterday.

“I’m not sure where Kerry gets that from,” he said. “I’ve been getting smacked all year long. I don’t know if he’s seen the highlights, but it makes no sense at all.”

Ochocinco left Sunday’s game at the half with his knee bothering him. Bengals coach Marvin Lewis does not sound too convinced about the nature of the injury.

“Ocho got his ego bruised when he fell down before the game,” Lewis said. “He’s healthy as I think he’s twittered over America.”

Healthy or not, Ochocinco knows Rex Ryan and the Jets defense will have something planned for him Saturday.

“Extremely confusing,” he said of Ryan’s defense. “It’s not the personnel I’m playing against that I’m worried about. I never said it last week. I played around with a friend of mine, with Revis, but I was moreso worried about what Rex was going to do to me, not who the individual was.

“I have a lot of respect for Mr. Ryan from when he was with Baltimore.”
