Parade down red carpets of Oscars past

Everyone knows that the only thing that really matters at the Oscars is what Hollywood’s brightest stars will wear while walking that red carpet.

Weeks before the big night, celebrity stylists all over town are whipped into a frenzy, securing runway gowns and million-dollar jewels and — most of all — making sure that no one shows up in the same dress (the horror!).

But in the end, it all comes down to how the final outfit looks.

In anticipation of this year’s “bravo!” and “what-was-she-thinking” Oscar moments, we rounded up some of celebrity fashion’s insiders to lend their thoughts on the good, the bad and the just plain ugly from Oscars 2009.

ABOUT THE INSIDERS:

Siobhan Bonnouvrier is the style director at Allure magazine and has dressed Rihanna, Angelina Jolie and Jennifer Lopez.

Kelley Culp is a fashion editor for “Full Frontal Fashion” and has dressed Chloe Sevigny, Rachel Bilson and Julia Restoin-Roitfeld.

Kevan Hall is a fashion designer who has dressed Vanessa Williams, Felicity Huffman, and Virginia Madsen

Francesca Mills is a celebrity stylist who has dressed Lindsay Lohan, Meryl Streep and Claire Danes.
