A young mother was murdered in her Bedford-Stuyvesant apartment yesterday, and her boyfriend was hauled off in handcuffs, neighbors said.
The woman, 22, was shot in the head just before 2 a.m. in her apartment on Greene Avenue, according to police, who responded to a 911 call and found her already dead.
Neighbors said the woman was terrified her boyfriend would kill her.
Cassandra Adams, 27, recalled the victim saying, “I’ve got to get away. He’s going to kill me.”
Early yesterday morning, Adams overheard the boyfriend cursing at her, “and then boom.”
Another neighbor, Max Evans, 44, who was watching TV when he heard a gunshot, saw police bringing the boyfriend out of the house in handcuffs.
The dead woman’s toddler was brought out of the house crying, “Mommy is hurt,” said Evans’ sister, Audrey, 41.
Police are withholding the names of the victim and suspect until they’ve notified family members.
