Howard Stern returns to ‘America’s Got Talent’

Howard Stern will return to “America’s Got Talent” for at least one more season, which will be his third on the NBC talent show.

Stern announced the news Tuesday morning on his SiriusXM radio show.

“I’ve been working a long time . . . I really wanted to decide if this was going to take away too much . . . free time, did I really still enjoy doing it, did I have something to say, is it something I should be involved with still?” he said, mentioning how NBC moved the show from LA to New York to accommodate him when he joined as a judge in 2012.

Stern said he wanted a personal life — but that the “big black hole” inside of him demands the kind of attention he gets on a network show like “AGT.”

“The big black hole, did it win?” his sidekick, Robin Quivers, asked him.

“It won,” Stern said. “I am going back for one season more.”

The eighth season of “AGT” aired over the summer. NBC has yet to set a date for the show’s ninth season, but host Nick Cannon has confirmed he’s also returning.

Stern was joined on the judges panel last season by Howie Mandel, Mel B and Heidi Klum.
