PARADE MAY SACK BARACK

Today’s Super Bowl victory parade for the Giants could aid Hillary Rodham Clinton by depressing the turnout for Barack Obama in New York’s presidential primary.

So says Hunter College Professor Ken Sherrill, noting that Obama voters – many of them male and young and football fans – seem likelier to participate in the celebration than Clinton’s support base of mostly female and older residents.

What’s more, some Super Bowl celebrants, Sherrill said, may skip voting altogether. It’s estimated that Giant mania will attract upward of a million paradegoers from New Jersey and Connecticut, as well as New York.

“Men are more likely to go to victory parades than women, and younger people are more likely to go than older people,” Sherrill said. “Obama does better in polls among men and younger people . . . Hillary does better with older voters . . . [and] women.”
