“Late Night” host-to-be Seth Meyers stopped by “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” Tuesday night, and Fallon passed the torch — in this case, a large plastic pickle — to his successor.
The giant gherkin was the same that former “Late Night” host Conan O’Brien delivered to Fallon back in 2009, when he took over the show, and that (according to late night TV lore) David Letterman gave to O’Brien before that in 1993.
Meyers debuts as the new host of “Late Night” on Feb. 24, a week after Fallon takes over “The Tonight Show” from Jay Leno.
