Fran Fraschilla has become a hot item again.
When Rick Majerus pulled out of the San Diego State sweepstakes Monday, Fraschilla, the former, St. John’s hoop coach, was offered the job, according to sources. However, Fraschilla also is being wooed by Southwest Missouri State, where he is the leading candidate to replace Steve Alford, who left for Iowa. Fraschilla also may interview with Georgia later this week.
SW Missouri State appears more appealing to Fraschilla than San Diego State because that team will return nine players. San Diego State will be a major rebuilding job and, because of scholarship limitations, the immediate future there looks bleak.
