Sarah Palin had no idea her teenage daughter Bristol was sexually active until she learned the girl was pregnant, she says in a TV interview.
“That’s why I was shocked. Truthfully, we were devastated,” Palin tells Barbara Walters in an ABC News interview that will air in several segments this week, timed for the publication of Palin’s new book.
Palin announced her daughter’s pregnancy in September 2008, a few days after she became the GOP’s vice- presidential nominee. Bristol, 18, gave birth to a son, Tripp, in December.
