NJ beach home rented by Stewart, Romano for sale

Sometimes, celebs want a vacation home out of the spotlight. For the past two summers, Jon Stewart rented a Long Beach, NJ, oceanfront property that was asking around $30,000 a week. Ray Romano also rented the same beach house.

The six-bedroom, six-bathroom home at 9 Long Beach Boulevard is now on the market for $8.99 million. It comes with a private beach, a large deck with a pool, two hot tubs and ocean and bay views.

There’s grilling space on the deck and a “three-season” screened porch. Inside is a chef’s kitchen, dining room, fireplace and office. There’s also staff/nanny quarters in the basement with a separate entrance.

The home includes two buildable lots. Minus the extra lots, it’s available for $6.5 million.

We hear . . .

That prominent Canadian art collector Ydessa Hendeles bought a $27.5 million, three-bedroom at the Dakota from co-op board head and ex-hedgie Bruce Barnes. (Full disclosure: Hendeles’ former well known King Street West gallery, in Toronto, was based in my late, beloved grandfather’s former factory. Hendeles kept the brushed steel name of the uniform company up and in prominent sight: Uniforms Registered. Sadly, the letters are now gone; a personal piece of Toronto history that we will sorely miss!) . . . that author Bruce Littlefield is decorating Barbara Corcoran’s multiple homes . . . that three University of Miami School of Business students enrolled in the school’s new accelerated MBA in Real Estate program have been named the first “Witkoff Scholars.”
