Changes at Time Inc.

There were more comings and goings at Time Inc. on Tuesday.

The company named Amazon executive Colin Bodell, who had worked on the technology team at the Kindle store, to be the company’s chief technology officer and an executive vice president.

CEO Joe Ripp said Bodell “will be responsible for shaping the overall strategic technology direction for the new Time Inc.”

It may shape up as the key hire of Ripp’s era.

Mitch Klaif, who had been the chief information officer, will remain with the company but will take on a new, yet-to-be-determined role as a senior vice president.

Meanwhile, at Sports Illustrated, Frank Wall is out as publisher after two years. SI’s print ad pages were down about 6 percent in 2013.
