Female reporter who accused Jets of harassment will not pose for Playboy

Mexican television reporter Ines Sainz, who claimed she was harassed by members of the New York Jets in September, announced that she turned down an offer to pose nude for Playboy, TMZ.com reported Thursday.

The magazine approached the self-proclaimed “hottest sports reporter in Mexico” offering a huge payday and the cover shortly after the incident involving Jets players and coaches.

Sainz told reporters during a press conference in Hollywood on Thursday that she had read several rumors regarding Playboy’s interest, but a week passed before an agent from the popular pin-up actually reached out to her.

“No thank you,” Sainz said to the magazine’s representative. “That’s not my style.”

Sainz was at a Jets practice to interview quarterback Mark Sanchez where she said one coach and various players tried to run at her and throw balls at her during a passing drill and that players made catcalls in the locker room towards her after practice.

The Jets escaped punishment over the incident, but owner Woody Johnson said he would underwrite a league-wide training program to be administered to rookies next year to teach them about proper behavior in the workplace.

On Thursday, Sainz also said she would no longer enter NFL locker rooms and would only interview players for her employer TV Azteca on the field or on the sideline.

“I’m not going into the locker rooms anymore,” she said. “It’s not a good place right now for me. I don’t want to be in there.

“I need to wait one month to work again because I don’t want to be the focus,” she added. “I’m not looking for that kind of publicity. It affects my career and development in the States.”
