iCensor for teen sexting

Apple has patented a program that can bar teens from sexting — sending sexually explicit messages between mobile phones.

The app, which presumably could be available for future versions of the iPhone, was approved by the US Patent Office this week.

The patent’s background info states that it provides a way “to monitor and control text communications to make them user-appropriate.”

If a user someone tries to use a phone for sexting, the program “can either require the user to replace the unauthorized text or may automatically delete the text or the entire communication.”
