‘Sex’ame Street ‘slander’

And they called it puppet love.

A Broadway singer wants to know who was pulling the strings on a Twitter posting accusing him of contracting a sexually transmitted disease from an “Avenue Q” actor.

Stage star Marty Thomas filed suit in Manhattan yesterday, saying he was defamed by the tweet, posted last month by someone using the moniker “bwayanonymous,” that implied he took a walk on the wild side of the “Sesame Street”-like puppet parody.

“Which Avenue Q cast member gave Marty Thomas crabs?” the tweet teased.

Thomas, a “Xanadu” and “Wicked” performer who was voted a Broadway Hottie of the Month by gaylifenyc.org earlier this year, says he’s not into puppets — and certainly doesn’t have an STD.

“I do not suffer from, nor have I ever suffered from, a sexually transmitted disease,” Thomas says in the suit.

He wants a judge to order Twitter to turn over the identity of “bwayanonymous” so he can take action against the person for dragging him through the mud.

The accusation “negatively impacts my reputation and negatively reflects on my business as a professional actor,” the filing says.

“If it’s an opinion about my career, my talent, my personality, I could care less. My skin is thicker than that,” Thomas, 30, told The Post.

Thomas said he has a strong suspicion the poster is a teenage girl who’s been stalking him for more than a month.
