Dow closes down over 100 points ahead of jobs report

US stocks fell Thursday for the first time in five sessions, with benchmark indexes finishing near their lowest levels of the day as Wall Street anxiously anticipated Friday’s release of the government’s monthly jobs report.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 119.96 points, or 1.03 percent, to end at 11,493.57 after a four-session winning streak.

The S&P 500 shed 14.47 points, or 1.2 percent, to end at 1,204.42 and the Nasdaq Composite lost 33.42 points, or 1.3 percent, to 2,546.04.
