‘Reality’ bites 580G investor

A reality-TV project being produced by Eddie Murphy’s cousin has been stalled by a rich Greenwich, Conn., lawyer with an apparent jealous streak, the show’s stars charge.

“Managing James and Rebecca” was supposed to chronicle the lives of an emerging New York fashion designer and her larger-than-life beau, a professional poker player.

But Dwight Renfrew, a high-society patent lawyer, demanded that the stars and producers return $580,000 he gave them to produce designer clothing and a fashion event featured on the show.

Renfrew claims his investments last September “were used fraudulently and were misappropriated,” according to a letter obtained by The Post.

But the show’s stars, Rebecca Kudryavsky and James Boccanfuso, say he’s just a jealous creep.

They say the 65-year-old had a secret crush on the designer and couldn’t stand it when she and Boccanfuso got married on a whim last summer.

Kudryavsky said Renfrew had offered to invest in the show, telling her: “I’m bored with what I do. Let me help you out.”

There were no contract or demands attached, she claimed.

But the wacky stars got a quickie wedding in Las Vegas, and Renfrew “went ballistic,” Kudryavsky said.

“He’s very emotional. He fell in love with me,” she told The Post.

In December, Renfrew sent producer Ray Murphy Jr. and the couple a letter demanding $580,000 within 14 business days.

Renfrew did not return calls for comment.
