Fashionable fellows

Fashion’s Night Out isn’t just about the catwalk anymore: This year, it’s also about the hardwood and the ice.

Many of the Big Apple’s biggest athletes will be hosting, toasting or mingling during the shopping spectacular.

“It feels great to be embraced by the fashion industry,” says the Knick’s forward Amar’e Stoudemire, who plans to cut a dashing figure in Calvin Klein and an Audemars Piguet watch on FNO.

He’ll kick off his night at Macy’s Herald Square at 6:30 p.m., when he’ll launch his hotly anticipated collaboration with designer Rachel Roy.

“I’ve worked for the past year on this. I am looking forward to people being able to walk into Macy’s and see our line for the first time,” says an enthusiastic Stoudemire. “These people [in the fashion industry] are amazing at what they do, and I like to learn from the best.”

The 28-year-old, who slam-dunked his way into the fashion world when he was featured in Vogue’s March issue, will head over to the Calvin Klein Madison Avenue store next to rub elbows with the likes of model Lara Stone and the label’s creative directors Francisco Costa and Italo Zucchelli.

“We have built a relationship over the past year, so I look forward to supporting them,” he adds.

His stylish teammate Carmelo Anthony is hosting the Rag & Bone party with his wife La La Anthony. And the night will also be a coming out of sorts for the newest face of the Rangers — Brad Richards, who inked a $60 million contract with the blue shirts in July. The 31-year-old will kick off his inaugural New York season by meeting some of his favorite designers on FNO.

“I’m going to be meeting Tommy Hilfiger, which is cool because he’s been big since I was young,” gushes the TriBeCa resident. “I’m not used to heading into training camp and having 40 opportunities and the option of sitting at Fashion Week thrown at me,” says the ruggedly handsome (and single) Canadian with an appreciative laugh.

His fellow Rangers Dan Girardi and Ryan Callahan will be meeting their fans in the NHL store in Midtown. Meanwhile, the remainder of the roster, including Brian Boyle, Brandon Dubinsky and Steve Eminger, will head to the Bowery store of hockey fanatic and designer John Varvatos for a performance by

The Roots.

Newlywed goaltender Henrik Lundqvist will don a dark suit from his favorite label, Tiger of Sweden, and head for the Upper East Side Prada store.

“Fashion’s Night Out is not only about the fashion, but meeting a lot of interesting people from a different world,” says the dapper Swede. “It’s great to be a part of that.”
