Kelsey Grammer says he was ripped off out of $200,000 in Ponzi scheme: report

Actor Kelsey Grammer claims he is the victim of an online Ponzi scheme that ripped him off to the tune of nearly $200,000, Star magazine reported today.

The former “Fraiser” star said his name and picture were used without his permission on a website called Staropoly.com, the magazine reported.

Grammer is suing the site’s parent company, TODHD, which is being investigated by the FBI, for $100 million.

A suit, filed in the Los Angeles Superior Court on Aug. 15, accusing those behind the website of grand theft, extortion and credit card fraud.

The suit claims the site was “an illegal pyramid scheme operation in order to commit credit card fraud, with no monetary return to its associates.”

“He told them consistently, ‘You have no right to use my name,’ and he then hired a lawyer,” a rep for Grammer told Star magazine. “He told them, ‘Remove me from this site immediately.'”
