Wes Gordon

Luxe be a lady: Such was the word at Wes Gordon’s presentation today. Pretty, polished young things made that uptown girl look cool come spring. But don’t expect a Blair Waldorf effect: Gordon’s girl is tough-as-nails, and the longer length of nail on each models’ manicure was proof positive – they give her “more edge,” the young designer said.

And edge there was, softly folded into a sea of coral, Wedgewood blue, and sunny yellow hues: a silver lame cigarette pant here, a metallic mesh houndstooth jacket there. Even white lace – cut into a barely-there cropped jacket – suggested just the right amount of sex appeal.

But these sexy servings of spring wardrobe must-haves were evened out with a selection of chic, versatile separates: Trousers were wide-legged and pleated, skirts were flouncy and full and most were finished off with the sweetest of bows wrapped around the waist.
