You can always count on Richard Chai to have lust-worthy patterns in intriguing colors on his runway, and for Spring, Chai started the season off with coral/blue Hawaiian prints and yellow/black striped pieces and finished with dusty plum tones in water rose prints. An added detail were Swarovski Pearls which the designer wrapped and coiled along edges to “bring an element of depth and volume.”
Another detail that popped on the runway, were the extreme colored lips and eyelids. Turquoise lipstick and orange eye shadow might not make it all the way to the streets by next spring, or ever — but keep an eye out, because these saturated colors could work their way into a nail polish or two before we’re done with the season.
