Sizzling St. Lucia

As of press time, it’s 81 degrees in St. Lucia. If that sounds appealing but your job has you on a tight leash, consider the Great Escape package at St. Lucia’s Ladera Resort. Designed for “sun-starved and time-starved visitors,” the getaway includes three nights accommodation at the hilltop luxury resort, all meals and drinks (except bottles), a welcome bottle of Champagne, a sightseeing tour and two Swedish massages (one per person). From $1,130 per couple, per night; offer valid until Aug. 30. Bring the heat! ladera.com

Sale of the century

The Ritz-Carlton Montreal is celebrating its 100th anniversary and guests have an opportunity to enjoy 20th-century prices: For reservations made through Jan. 30, guests staying at the hotel for two nights can enjoy a third night for $3.50 — the room rate in 1912. Though the prices might be historic, the experience is not: The hotel recently underwent a multimillion-dollar renovation, transforming itself into a “chic and modern space.” Regular rates from $175 per person, double occupancy; third-night discount valid for stays through April 30. ritzmontreal.com

Steamboat chilly

From Feb. 6 to 10, Steamboat Springs, Colo., will celebrate its 100th Annual Winter Carnival — the “oldest continuous winter carnival west of the Mississippi.” Expect all sorts of events that honor the town’s Western heritage and tradition of winter sports; activities include ski-jumping competitions (both pro and amateur), snow tubing and live entertainment including a performance by the Steamboat Springs High School marching band — quite possibly the world’s only marching band on skis. The fun supports the Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club, a not-for-profit that “creates champions both on the hill and in life.” steamboatwintercarnival.com
