An elderly man is dead and another is fighting for his life after the two were involved in separate accidents within five minutes of each other in Queens, cops said.
The first accident happened at 6:07 p.m. on Union Turnpike and 265 Street in Glen Oaks, cops said. The 82 year-old man was struck by a vechile and was pronounced dead at North Shore hospital, cops said. At 6:12 p.m. a man was struck by a vehicle on 94 Street and 24 Avenue.
The victim was sent to Elmhurst hospital in critical condition, cops said. Cops are investigating both accidents to determine whether any criminality is suspected.
