Fox ‘24’ reboot gets 2-hour May premiere

Fox’s reboot of “24: Live Another Day” will premiere May 5, the network announced Monday.

The event series – which has Kiefer Sutherland reprise his role as agent Jack Bauer — will have a two-hour debut from 8-10 p.m. that night, and move to its regular 9 p.m. time period the following week, May 12.

The sequel is set (and filmed) in London, where Bauer attempts to thwart a terrorist attack in the same real-time format with split screens that characterized the original Fox series which aired from 2001-10.

Fox also announced that Yvonne Strahovski (“Dexter”) has been cast in the series as Kate Morgan, a brilliant but impulsive CIA field operative in London. She joins Mary Lynn Rajskub, Kim Raver and William Devane – who are reprising their original roles – as well as newcomers Giles Matthey, Gbenga Akinnagbe, Michael Wincott and Judy Davis.
