Firefighters rescue suicidal tourist from Hudson River

Firefighters rescued a suicidal tourist from the chilly waters of the Hudson River this morning.

The 28-year-old man jumped from the pier at the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum at West 46th Street around 3:20 a.m., police said.

Workers on the ship tossed him a life preserver, and firefighters plucked him out of the water within 15 minutes, sources said. The NYPD’s Emergency Services Unit assisted.

The victim was taken to St. Luke’s Roosevelt Hospital in stable condition for evaluation, authorities said. Authorities said he was from out of town but didn’t immediately say from where.
