Fordham ends season with win

Chris Gaston and Mandell Thomas scored 22 points apiece to help Fordham beat St. Bonaventure 76-72 yesterday in the season finale for both teams in St. Bonaventure, N.Y.

Branden Frazier added 16 points for the Rams (7-24, 3-13 Atlantic 10), who snapped a 10-game losing streak.

Stony Brook 72, Binghamton 49

In Albany, N.Y., Anthony Jackson led four Stony Brook players in double figures with 16 points as the top-seeded Seawolves (24-6) rolled over Binghamton in the America East tournament quarterfinals. Stony Brook will face Albany, a 50-49 winner over Maine, at 7 tonight in the semifinals.

Delaware 62, Hofstra 57

In Richmond, Va., Devon Saddler scored 22 points and Jamelle Hagins had 12 points and 15 rebounds to lead Delaware (19-13) over Hofstra (7-25) yesterday in the quarterfinals of the Colonial Athletic Association tournament.

Taran Buie and Stevie Mejia each had 13 points and eight rebounds for Hofstra.

Dartmouth 64, Columbia 58

In Hanover, N.H., Alex Mitola scored 21 points to lead Dartmouth (9-19, 5-9 Ivy League) over Columbia (12-16, 4-10) in each team’s season finale. Brian Barbour led the Lions with 17 points.

UConn 63, Providence 59 (OT)

In Storrs, Conn., Ryan Boatright scored 23 points, including a key three-point play in overtime, as Connecticut (20-10, 10-8 Big East) finished its season with the win over Providence (17-13, 9-9). The Huskies are ineligible to play in the Big East or NCAA tournaments because of NCAA and university bans.
