Maine’s Sen. Susan Collins says she’d support locating a missile-defense system in the northern region of her state.
The Defense Department has said it is looking at three sites for missile systems — two on the East Coast; one in the West.
Collins couldn’t confirm if Maine’s Caribou-Limestone area was on the list, but indicated she’d support a system there.
Sites recommended in a report last year included the Caribou area and Fort Drum in upstate New York.
