A dimwitted man accidentally fired a bullet into his Manhattan ceiling while cleaning his gun – and the falling debris injured his 4 year-old son, cops said.
The 50-year-old man was preparing his rifle to go hunting when it went off in his Lower East Side apartment around 10:40 a.m., cops said.
The bullet pierced the kitchen ceiling while seven people including his 4-year-old son were inside the small apartment, police sources said.
The 4-year-old was taken to an area hospital for evaluation.
The man had a valid license for the weapon and no criminality is suspected.
Police are still investigating the incident.
