2 dead in horrific Bronx crash

Two people are dead in a gruesome crash in the Bronx after an allegedly speeding driver lost control of his SUV on the Hutchinson River Parkway and smashed into a livery cab, cops said.

Livery driver Ata Noorzi, 51, a father of five from Queens, and his passenger, Patrick Sheehan, 54, a father of three from Larchmont in Westchester County, apparently never had a chance in the 7 a.m. collision, which beheaded Sheehan and sent body parts flying.

The dead cabbie’s devastated brother wept as he left Jacobi Hospital today.

“There was another car that lost control. [Police] told me it fell on top of my brother’s car,” Abdul Nori told The Post.

Noorzi was a married father of five, his brother said.

John Osorio, 45, of White Plains, was interviewed by police at the 45th Precinct, and was given a breathalyzer test, but was released without even a speeding ticket as police continue investigating what caused him to allegedly  lose control as he headed north on the Hutch near Orchard Beach Road. His car smacked into a guardrail and then went airborne, according to police.

The black SUV skittered across three lanes of traffic before colliding with the southbound cab — killing the driver and his fare. The driver of the black SUV escaped serious injuries. A third driver was also hurt in the crash but it’s unclear if the woman’s car was struck or if she was unable to avoid the accident scene.

The survivors are being treated at Jacobi Hospital. The investigation is ongoing.

The crushed cab slid 50 to 100 yards before coming to a halt under an overpass at Orchard Beach Road.

The third driver, Denise Garvey, 49, of Putnam, was right behind the livery cab when the crash occurred. Garvey told The Post she was taking her son Joseph to a speech and debate tournament at Fordham Prep when she got caught up in the horrific scene.

“I was driving south bound in the middle lane and from what I remember a car that was driving northbound hit the divider,” she said.

The flailing SUV hit the cab, “then flipped over onto my car and then flipped behind me and at that point, I couldn’t see anything,” Garvey added.

The impact cracked her windshield and forced her airbags to deploy before her car ground to a halt. Garvey and her son were treated and released from Jacobi Hospital, escaping the carnage with little more than bruises, they said.
