Kirsten Dunst becomes L’Oreal Professional’s first global spokesperson

L’Oréal Professional, the salon hair-care brand owned by the French beauty giant, has signed Kirsten Dunst as its first global spokesperson.

The blond beauty will do strategic launches of major products and star in a series of ads for them, including Beach Waves and Absolute Repair Lipidium products that will be sold in salons.

It’s Dunst’s first beauty brand. She previously signed on to promote Bulgari’s fragrance Jasmine Noir, and seems an unlikely choice to promote incredibly gorgeous hair.

Her tresses are fine, but a far cry from those of Blake Lively or Beyoncé, who promote L’Oréal Paris.

But L’Oréal’s international managing director, Anne-Laure Lecerf, said the New Jersey-born actress is “a timeless beauty and modern woman, connected to fashion.”

An image released for the first ad shows Dunst with tousled, long blond hair — that stylists say consists of hair extensions — and a sexy, smoky eye. The image shows off lush, voluminous hair.

Dunst says: “I feel very close to L’Oréal Professionnel. The brand is strongly connected to fashion, and I admire its commitment to innovation, constantly creating new professional services and products to achieve the most on-trend styles.”

Dunst, a former model, often changes her hair color and styles.

Dunst is in the thriller “The Two Faces of January,” co-starring opposite Viggo Mortensen, and will start filming “Midnight Special” this month. — Julie Earle-Levine
