Chris Christie’s health is ‘normal’

Chris Christie’s camp finally released his medical records today, revealing that the NJ governor’s health is “normal” despite being overweight and battling high blood pressure.

New Jersey cardiologist Rachana Kulkarni called Christie’s physical exam “unremarkable,” adding that he has “normal blood work, normal cardiovascular test results and good functional capacity.”

“[Christie] has a history of hypertension for last 2 years and asthma for the last 30,” Kulkarni wrote in a letter.

“Both condition are well controlled under his current medical regime.”

Surprisingly, the doctor says Christie exercises four times per week, including aerobic and resistance training.

“He has adapted a healthy lifestyle including a healthy diet and regular cardiovascular exercise regimen,” she said.

“He has no medical limitations and is fit to serve as the Governor  of the state of New Jersey.”

The large-and-in-charge pol’s cholesterol is 139 and his blood pressure is 110/70. He’s never smoked and had a “normal” stress exercise test.

The doctor added that Christie has been “losing weight steadily” since he underwent lap band surgery in February.

Christie was challenged last week to release his medical records after his opponent in the race for governor — Barbara Buono — revealed that she was in “excellent health.”

His campaign stalled to release the records for more than a week.
