Ex-cops implicated in the massive pension plot

A motorcycle daredevil, a black-belt karate teacher and deep sea fisherman — they’re all former NYPD cops busted in a massive disability pension scam.

The retired cops — who range from ex-gang unit officers to former undercover detectives — are among more than 100 suspects who allegedly claimed to be traumatized to cash in on fat Social Security checks.

Many of the 106 ex-cops and firefighters were caught running side businesses and spotted living large in photos, ultimately cheating taxpayers out of more than $21.4 million, according to state court documents.

Here are some of their stories:

Glenn Lieberman

Glenn Lieberman, 48

Department: NYPD
Netted: $175,758.40 between June 2009 and June 2013

Lieberman, a former Brooklyn gang unit cop, claims to suffer from “depression and panic attacks” after working at ground zero on 911 — but he was never actually at the site on that day, a former colleague told The Post.

Now, he zips around on a jet ski in Florida, smiling and flipping middle fingers to pals, photos reveal.

“He has been traveling the world, literally. He also has a job and a business all while having PTSD???” the former co-worker said.

“It’s insane,” he added.

Lieberman also owns 32-foot boat called “Broke But Still Afloat” and lives in a large home Palm Beach Gardens Florida, the source said.

He was nearly kicked out of the NYPD years ago, the co-worker said.

Richard Cosentino

Richard Cosentino, 49

Department: NYPD
Netted: 207,639.70 between May 2008 and June 2013.

The former cop claimed he was so distraught he couldn’t “socialize or leave the house”— but photos of him holding a massive sailfish while fishing off the coast of Costa Rica tell another story.

“I caught that in Lake Merrymeeting ! LOL…It was a awesome day,” he bragged on Facebook.

The New Hampshire resident added, “Marlins are great. We hooked a small blue marlin in CR the year before. Was about 200 lbs.’’

Michael Scialabba

Michael Scialabba, 43

Department: NYPD
Netted: $232,443.70 between Nov. 2005 and June 2013.

“Helicopter Mike’’ used to work as an undercover cop, fighting gun violence in Brooklyn, landing a high profile case that involved rapper Ol’ Dirty Bastard.

After leaving the force on disability, he now runs lucrative helicopter-ferrying business for the rich on Long Island — and spends his free time zooming around on a motorcycle, dressed head to toe in leather, photos reveal.

A pal, John Feal, defended him, calling him a stand-up guy.

“The Mike Scialbaba I know came to our events and always been a supporter of 9/11’’ efforts. … he was always a stand-up individual, always doing the right thing, ’Feal said.

Joseph Morrone

Joseph Morrone, 60

Department: NYPD
Netted: $109,930. between October 2009 and June 2013.

The beefy ex-cop claimed to have fear of large crowds — but was caught on camera doling out cannolis while working at the packed San Gennaro Festival, , in Manhattan.

“Great old tunes, good old friends, and lots of good food; it sounds like a good time to me!” he wrote on his facebook page.

Louis Hurtado

Louis Hurtado, 60

Department: NYPD
Netted: $470,395.20 between June 1989 and June 2013
Hurtado, military-schooled former cop, was caught teaching karate at a martial arts school and spotted happily blowing out birthday cake candles in photos.

He is a “certified 6th Degree Black Belt instructor, who continually strives for self perfection,” the karate center’s website notes.

A neighbor was shocked to hear he had been arrested.

“He’s a nice, bright person… I would have never seen this coming, he’s very nice,” she said.

Glen Galanos

Glenn Galanos, 45

Department: NYPD
Netted: $358,740.20 between March 2004 and June 2013

The ex-cop spent this past spring training hard for a half-marathon in North Carolina, according to crowd funding website. “Over the next four months, we will pound the pavement…running and raising funds,” he posted next to a photo of himself jogging.

“We know he got out on a disability pension, he never really talked too much about it much…he said he got out for an injured wrist,” said a woman who answered the phone at his home on Tuesday.
