Man who threatened W had rifle, machete

New details have emerged about the case of the upstate man busted for writing a note that threatened George W. Bush — in order to woo Dubya’s daughter Barbara.

“I’m going to work for George W. Bush and the Pentagon,” said a note written by Benjamin Smith, according to court documents. “I have to slay a dragon and then Barbara Bush is mine.”

The Secret Service tracked Smith, 44, of Pittsford, to Lexington Avenue near 30th Street on Friday.

“Bush will get his,” Smith screamed as he was taken into custody. Inside his car was a loaded rifle, a machete and a container of gasoline, authorities said.

When asked about his marital status, he told agents he was “working on a relationship with Barbara Bush.”
