Taxpayers must keep paying for Gov. Cuomo’s helicopter commute: state ethics board

Taxpayers must keep picking up the tab for Gov. Cuomo’s helicopter commute to and from his Westchester County home, the state ethics board said yesterday.

Each flight to Albany costs over $1,000 each way — compared to about $50 if State Police drove him.

Cuomo has to pay the state back if he uses the choppers daily or attends a fund-raiser on the trip, the board ruled.

The governor doesn’t live full time in Albany, instead sharing a Westchester home with his girlfriend, Sandra Lee. Cuomo didn’t comment on the decision.
