Gunman opens fire on police in Brooklyn

A gun-toting thug took a wild shot at police officers in Brooklyn while being pursued after they spotted him conducting an apparent drug deal, authorities said.

Narcotics officers stationed in Bushwick approached the 25-year-old suspect after they thought they spotted him dealing drugs near the corner of Park and Beaver Streets at around 11:30 a.m., cops said.

When the suspect saw the officers coming, he made a run for it before pulling out a Browning 380 handgun and firing it at the officers who were hot on his heels, cops said.

The bullet narrowly missed the officers and pierced the window of a bystander’s van.

Police were able to grab the gunman before he could get off a second round and wrestled him into submission, cops said.

The suspect was cuffed and and brought down to the 83 Precinct stationhouse where he is expected to be charged.
