Jason Pierre-Paul misses practice — again

It does not appear as if Jason Pierre-Paul is making much progress with his injured right shoulder. Pierre-Paul did not practice on Thursday as the Giants got their work done in the morning and then were dismissed to celebrate Thanksgiving.

Pierre-Paul also did not practice on Wednesday, casting a doubt on his availability for Sunday’s game against the Redskins.

Coach Tom Coughlin said this week Pierre-Paul is hampered by the shoulder issue, and that it is something that will linger for the remainder of the season. Pierre-Paul played just 27 snaps in the 24-21 loss to the Cowboys and was not effective when he was on the field, credited with just one tackle.

Brandon Jacobs, coming off a big game (nine carries, 75 yards), also did not practice for a second straight day. Jacobs had missed three consecutive games with the knee problem earlier this season.

Cornerback Trumaine McBride (groin) also missed another day of practice and likely will not play.

Hakeem Nicks (abdomen), Corey Webster (ankle) and Terrell Thomas (knee) were all limited.

The return of Webster, who has missed seven of the last nine games, will be a key for the Giants, if he is able to finally get back on the field.

Without Webster, the Giants are left with two cornerbacks — Thomas and Prince Amukamara — with any real experience this season, and they would have to put safety Antrel Rolle in the nickel corner slot, where he was exploited by Tony Romo in last week’s game-winning Cowboys drive.

The only other option would be Jayron Hosley, who hasn’t played much this season and is coming off a strained hamstring.
