Jets blitz

HERO: Bills quarterback EJ Manuel, who was 20-of-28 for 245 yards and 2 TDs. This was Manuel’s second game back off injury after a poor week last Sunday, and he completely outplayed his rookie counterpart from the Jets, Geno Smith.

UNSUNG HERO: Bills Jairus Byrd, who returned from being out with a foot injury to make two picks of Smith, one of which led to a field goal late in the second quarter to give Buffalo a 20-0 lead.

ZERO: Jets quarterback Geno Smith, who completed only 8-of-23 passes for 103 yards with three interceptions (one a pick-six) and lost fumble. Smith now has 16 interceptions and four lost fumbles this season. Runner up “zero’’ would be Jets DT Leger Douzable, who was called for a neutral-zone infraction on a Bills’ fourth-and-6, giving them a fourth-and-1 they converted to open the gates for the blowout.

NUMBER TO KNOW: 10.1. That was Smith’s quarterback rating, compared to 121.9 for Buffalo’s Manuel.

QUOTE: “I’m tired of answering that damn question. We’re not a playoff team until they say we’re in the playoffs. Right now, we just lost to the [bleeping] Buffalo Bills so please don’t ask me that question anymore.’’ — Jets RG Willie Colon
