Wu-Tang associate turns self in after fatal hit and run: cops

A Wu-Tang Clan associate allegedly struck and killed a man in a hit and run crash on New Year’s Day, cops said.

Shyheim Franklin, 36, who is also known as Manchild and The Rugged Child, turned himself in to police Wednesday morning.

Felipe Avila,29, of Tompkinsville was on his way to work driving a Toyota Celica on Lafayette Avenue near Richmond Terrace, according to police.

That’s when ‘The Rugged Child’ who was in a 1996 Volvo s80, went through a stop sign, the sources said.

Franklin then got out of the vehicle and ran off, the sources said.

Avila was rushed to Richmond University Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

Franklin’s blood was left on the driver’s side airbag, police sources said. The car allegedly belonged to a pal.

Last April cops conducting a search warrant found a loaded.32 caliber Serrifile Inc Terrier One revolver under a mattress, a Xanax pill, and 41 glassines of heroin in Franklin’s apartment, the sources said.

Franklin has been charged with leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death, cops said.

He has nine prior arrests including drug possession and robbery dating back to 1997.
